
FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Christian University is mourning the loss of a foundational leader in its health sciences community. Dr. Christopher Watts, who served as the Dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, died on Friday, January 16. He was 64.
A Transformative Leader at TCU
Dr. Watts began his tenure at TCU in 2008 and was appointed dean in 2019. Under his leadership, Harris College saw significant growth in its academic programs and research profile.
He was instrumental in modernizing the college and fostering an inclusive environment that propelled both students and faculty to success. His vision is credited with elevating TCU to national recognition in nursing and health sciences education.
